Abstract: THE IMPACT OF SUPPLIER RELATIONSHIPS ON SUPPLY CHAIN PERFORMANCE

The objective of this study is to investigate the impact of supplier relationships on supply chain performance, focusing on their effects on reliability, quality, and cost management. A survey design is employed for its ability to collect quantitative data from a broad range of respondents. Using Taro Yamane's formula, a sample size of 320 respondents is calculated to ensure statistical significance. The case study focuses on a manufacturing firm in Lagos that emphasizes strong supplier relationships. The reliability coefficient score of 0.87 indicates high reliability. Findings reveal that strong supplier relationships significantly enhance supply chain performance by improving reliability, quality, and cost management. Recommendations include developing long-term partnerships with key suppliers and regularly evaluating their performance to ensure continuous improvement.
